The Development of Internet in Chinese Taipei
and Related Issues in Competition Law

 

Abstract

 

In the technical point of view, the Internet is not a medium, rather, it represents certain combination of different media. Thanks for its characteristics as an open system, the Internet further facilitates transmission of enormous information on a multi-media basis with the help of digitalization. The traditional media law with its segmentation in the legislation can thus provide no appropriate regulation framework for the Internet. On the other hand, industries participating in Internet-related businesses, stemmed out of different trade environments, do enjoy different prosperity chances and exercise quite diverse practices. How will all these properly treated in the competition law? This article aims to find out the answer to each related issue n this respect.
