Competition Bill

The Competition Bill was passed in Parliament on 19 October 2004. The Competition Bill seeks to make provisions about competition and the abuse of a dominant position in the market. It also establishes a new statutory board, the Competition Commission of Singapore, to administer and enforce the competition law.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry had conducted two rounds of public consultation in April/May and July/August this year to gather feedback on the proposed competition law.
