Policy Statements

Papua New Guinea is a small open economy and does not have specific competition policies and laws on Competition at this stage.

At present, a policy submission is being prepared to seek the National Executive Council's approval to introduce National Competition Policy and for the initial drafting of Competition Law(Fair Business Practices Act). This should take place by May of 1998, whereby a policy statement on Competition Policy will be announced.
