Expert Dialogue Forum (2004)

This forum has two purposes. First is to get information and input from business actors and related party on various sectors of industries and the other related party, such as regional government, Regional People's Legislative Assembly (DPRD), Academicians, and NGOs to support the executions of KPPU's duties and competence in order to create fair and conducive business environment. Second is to give understanding to business actors as KPPU's stakeholder as well as public who related with the contents and substances of law 5/1999 and its implementing regulation.
Activities of Expert Dialog Forum, can be seen below:

Organize 2ND ASEAN Conference on Competition Policy and Law: Accelerate Growth and Competitiveness through Competition Policy and Law (2004)

Workshop on effective administration and enforcement of competition law for the judiciary" at November, 25-27, 2004, at Bogor, West Java. The aim from this workshop are :

1. increase knowledge about fair trade law
2. explain about interrelated background's law with issues and economic analysis in fair trade law

Public Socialization to Law No.5/1999 (2005)

This activity was designed to build not only network both in national and regional levels but also the knowledge and awareness about business competition law. This activity is aimed at familiarizing the public wit Law No.5/1999 and KPPU as an institution which function an authority are to uphold fair business competition law. Each year different terms raised in such activity depends on what current issues or cases the public have to know.

Journalist Forum (2005)
This activity was designed in order to disseminate various issues, cases and also discourse at progress in KPPU especially and business competition in general. By it name, this forum only involves journalists who are concerned with business competition issue. In this forum, journalists get big opportunity to dig up issues and fine explanation on other issue important for the interests of the public. Different from the reading of case decision where journalists shall only record but know question and answer with KPPU members handling the case, the forum was designed to give opportunity for them to be able to directly interact in gathering information. In general, the forum is held to raise issues related to the cases with got attention from public. So far, the forum is very effective not only to KPPU who has the interest so that news and information can know by society but also assist journalists to get official statements from KPPU. Journalist's forum in expected to accommodate two-way communication between KPPU as the business competition supervisory institution and media, the source of news on cases of violation to Law No.5/1999. To achieve that, KPPU also hold trainings for journalists on business competition issues. During 2005, KPPU have held three trainings for journalists in Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan.

Business Meeting (2005)
In order to develop cooperation and synergy with business actors, KPPU holds business meeting to disseminate knowledge and understanding for business actors in 2005, business meeting have been held in three places Surabaya, Medan and Jakarta. The themes raise in events where "economic impacts of the enforcement of business competition law " and "prohibited agreement in banking industry". Other issues in a number of business meetings in Jakarta are Indonesia migrant workers-related industries, tender collusion and the creation of fair business competition. More specific issue was raised in the event in Medan which is on salt distribution.

Business Competition Community (2005)
Approaching mid 2005, a number of discourses concerning business competition raise to the surface in KPPU public familiarization activities. Learning the matter, KPPU note that the contribution of stakeholders in KPPU network has formed a business competition community. This community even place important role as they give useful input to handle business competition cases or as reference materials for business competition studies as business competition supervise institution that develops the important improvement of the stakeholders understanding, the follow up which is later executed is so specify problems and compile main activity for stakeholder as follows:

• Carrying out seminar for academicians, law practitioners and business actor in Jakarta with main topic "Reformation of Regulation in the Framework of Competition Policy".
• Active participation in promotion and trade forum in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya.
• Establishing network with local government through join for an in Aceh, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Balikpapan and Kupang.
• Developing basic understanding through the materials in the curriculum of business competition law at academic forum in Jakarta.

Workshops for Judges (2005)

The implementation of business competition law related on law and economic aspect. Without proportional understanding of economic aspect, it is possible that handling business competition law is only seen from law enforcement aspect. On the contrary if it is solely only seen from economy perspective, the law aspect will be ignored. The condition may reduce the meaning of the existence of Law No.5/1999 in the country's law system. The consideration about have been very carefully observed by two independent institutions, Supreme Court and KPPU which cooperate to carry out "Workshop on Business Competition Law for District Court Judges" in Semarang, Surabaya and Jakarta. Competition law has indeed been an enforced the past six years, the business competition issues have progressively develop in line with the dynamic of business in Indonesia. Therefore, although the Supreme Court and KPPU have carry out seminar workshop last year, a sustainable program in remind needed to ensure the actuality of business competition issues at court.

Workshop on business competition law were considered effective in giving the understanding about business competition law and in discussing law and policy in business competition from economic and court procedure aspect as addressed by KPPU's own sources and academicians who have the competence on business competition law. Workshop is planed to be held regularly and continuously.

Training Program in International Cooperation (2006)

1. At Japan
   Placing resident advisory as law and fair trade policy expert from Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC), which cooperate with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to give training to develop KPPU's staff and training about "Indonesia Group training Program on competition law and policy. Training was held at February, 16 until March, 16, 2006
2. At Korea
   Training about Market Relevant and Merger, abuse, dominant position, bid ringing and cartel which is cooperate result from KPPU and OECD. Until June, 2006, this training was held at February, April, and June
3. At Jakarta
   KPPU cooperate with US-FTC and US-DOJ realize and support training program about fair trade policy to APEC's member which call "5th APEC training program on competition policy for APEC member economies" this training was held at Yogjakarta, date December, 6 -8, 2006

Judicial Seminar on Competition Law and Policy Realization (2006)
KPPU, UNCTAD and GTZ ¡V ICL organize Judicial seminar on competition law and policy at June, 13-14, 2006 at Bali. This program to compare perception about law implementation efficiency and fair trade policy to justice of the supreme court, justice from court of first instance at DKI Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya, Semarang, Makassar and Balikpapan and also policeman of RI, investigator, annalist and KPPU's staff.

State Invitation From International Agency (2006)

1. Secretarial general for ministry of domestic trade and consumer affairs Malaysia visited KPPU at February 16, 2006. The aim of this visited is to give input to make the same institution at Malaysia's MDTCA
